8.1.1.1.1 Power Safeguards

e following safeguards should be exercised within the power distribution plant

inside the building or on the ground of the organization’s campus:

◾ Regulate Voltage—Power regulation devices to ensure consistent steady

power. Devices include the following:

− Surge Suppressors—ese devices protect against temporary excessive

voltages.

− Line Conditioners—ese devices regulate, lter, and suppress noise in

AC power sources.

− Voltage Regulators—ese devices provide a constant DC output inde-

pendent of input voltage, output load, or temperature.
