I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
1 The Three Cs
Competence,Commitment,Compatibility
Before we dive in, let’s discuss a framework that will carry us through the entire book: the Three Cs—competence, commitment, and compatibility. The minute you step into a new role is the minute your managers, coworkers, and clients will ask themselves three questions:
- “Can you do the job well?” (Are you competent?)
- “Are you excited to be here?” (Are you committed?)
- “Do you get along with us?” (Are you compatible?)
