Chapter 9

Static response of uncoupled thermoelastic problems

Abstract

The present chapter proposes a deep investigation of the static response of uncoupled thermoelastic problems for composite plate and shell structures. Advanced theories based on PVD and RMVT are employed. Both the exact Navier-type closed-form solution and the advanced MITC9 shell element are used in the analysis. The temperature profile through-the-thickness direction is both assumed considering a linear variation and calculated by solving Fourier's heat conduction equation.
