Abstract The introduction examines, in a systematic way, the most significant contributions to the thermal stress analysis for both metallic and composite structures. Moreover, it provides a detailed and comprehensive discussion of the thermoelasticity and the thermal stress analysis of advanced structures. Known books on the same topics are reviewed.
