Think about the differences between your current computer and a brand-new, top-of-the-line model. Don’t consider price. Instead, the items you use for comparison include a better processor, more memory, larger and faster primary storage, and the latest software. These items are collectively known as resources, and a newer PC has better resources than your current computer.
Sorry, I didn’t mean to depress you. Your computer is a worthy machine, but it might be acting slow because it just doesn’t have the resources it once did. Those resources — the processor, memory, storage, and other items — all play a direct role in the computer’s performance. Windows lets you monitor these resources to ensure that they’re being used to the best of your PC’s capabilities.
