SQL is a relatively intuitive language. Usually you can look at an SQL statement and figure out what it means in a few seconds. After you have some experience with SQL, you will probably be able to read scripts and understand what they do with few problems.
The details can be a little tricky, particularly for complex SELECT statements and joins. When you are writing scripts, you may still need to occasionally refer to this appendix or to the online documentation.
