Part IV discusses the visualization of high-dimensional medical image data. Thus, in this part we consider time-dependent data, as well as 3D vector and tensor data.
A special variation of MRI is Diffusion Tensor Imaging (DTI). With this modality, the inhomogeneity of the direction of (water) diffusion can be non-invasively determined. Strongly directed diffusion occurs for example in the whiter matter of the human brain, and thus indicates the direction and location of fiber tracks.
