When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
How it works...
The vSphere Command-line Interface (vCLI) can be downloaded from VMware at http://www.vmware.com/support/developer/vcli/ and installed on a Windows PC or Linux workstation. vCLI is also included as part of the vSphere Management Assistant (vMA), which can be deployed in the vSphere environment.
vMA is deprecated and version 6.5 was the final release in favor of vCLI and PowerCLI.
The ESXi backup is saved to the specified file. This file is not human-readable but contains the configuration information of the ESXi host and can be used to restore the configuration in the event that the host is lost and has to be reinstalled. The backup can also be used to return the host to a known good configuration if a configuration change ...
