So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
How to do it...
Regardless of the deployment option that's selected, the vCenter Server components must be installed and configured in a specific order, so that the service dependencies are met.
The order of installation of the vCenter Server components is as follows:
- Deploy the VMware Platform Services Controller (PSC)
- Deploy the vCenter Server
- Deploy the other supporting components: VMware Update Manager, the VMware Syslog Service, ESXi Dump Collector, and so on
