How it works...
VeeamZIP jobs are created in order to back up virtual machines. VeeamZIP jobs include the backup targets and the backup retention policy, encryption, compression, and quiesce status. VeeamZIP jobs cannot be scheduled and can be considered as standalone or independent restore points.
Once the VeeamZIP job has run, the virtual machine can be restored to its original location or to a different location. Restoring to a different location provides a way to test the virtual machine backups without impacting the running virtual machine.
File-Level Restores (FLR) can also be performed by choosing the appropriate Windows or Linux file-level restore option. File-level restores require an FLR appliance to be deployed to an ESXi host. ...
