So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Staring Prejudice Down
In many ways, Herb had received extremely contradictory messages throughout his life. He had been beaten up by anti-Semitic thugs and accepted into the dugout of the Brooklyn Dodgers. He had been challenged by the cronies of McCarthyism and encouraged by mentors who believed in him. But he had finally achieved his Ph.D. with highest honors from New York University, and he assumed that getting a job teaching at the college level would be a breeze.
