Summary
In this chapter we began with a quick look at SQL Server Management Studio, followed by the new DMVs. Then we explored SQL Server's new security features and discovered contained databases—which we will no doubt see more improvements being applied to in future editions.
In the next chapter we will explore the new T-SQL functions, examine error handling improvements and look at the new string, datetime and analytical functions.
