I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Installation
Run setup.exe from the SQL Server 2012 installation media and select the Distributed Replay Client and Distributed Replay Controller options:
Tip
If you are running the clients and/or controllers on separate machines, remember that you may need to open up Windows firewall to allow connections between machines. Microsoft has published instructions on how to do this at: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg502645.aspx.
Next, specify the name of the machine that is to be the Distributed Replay Controller. This is an optional parameter and the default value is blank:
