This _count API gives you a count of the search results without giving the details. You can use it in a URI search or request body search query. Additional parameters, such as df, analyzer, default_operator, lenient, analyze_wildcard, and terminate_after, can be used in the query. Their usages are the same as what we described in the URI search section. Let's look at an example of counting the ETFs fund_name field containing the word asia. You can see that there are 5 ETFs with the fund_name field containing the word asia:
