I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Building a virtual environment to run the sample ES-Hadoop project
The following step-by-step instructions are for building the virtual environment with the required libraries to run the project:
- Build a virtual environment folder. We assume that you have Python and virtualenv installed. We have Python 3.6 and virtualenv 15.0.1 installed. Let's name the folder eshadoop and run the command in the code block:
$virtualenv -p python3.6 eshadoop
- Run the following command and take a look at the eshadoop folder you've created:
$ ls eshadoopbin include lib pip-selfcheck.json share
- Run the source command to use the virtual environment built for eshadoop:
$ source eshadoop/bin/activate(eshadoop) $
- Run this command to go to the working directory: ...
