3.4.2 Edge App Evaluation
To demonstrate the benefit of the Proximity Cloud, we present the
implementation of three edge apps, and evaluate their performance
when deployed in the Proximity Cloud.
3.4.2.1 3D Indoor Localization Application
The first edge app we present is 3D indoor localization, where the goal
is to find the 3D position and orientation of a user’s mobile device
in a particular indoor environment. The high-fidelity 3D localization
increasingly finds practical usage in augmented reality and interac-
tive guidance applications.
