four flows belonging to four users. MNO-1 shares its MDG between its
flows 1 and 2 based on PF criteria. Whereas MNO-2 shares MDG for
its flows 3 and 4 mainly based on higher achievable sum-rate criteria.
As a result, MNO-1 achieves better fairness among its users on flows
1 and 2. In both MNOs, users that are close to AU, which receive
higher SNR, are able to get higher MDG compared to the users that
are far away from AU.
4.8 Summary
In this chapter, the concept of C-RAN virtualization is discussed. First
of all, the virtualization of both RAN and CN to reduce CAPEX and
OPEX for rolling out 5G networks is covered. The role of C-RAN in
