Lines of Development
The developmental lines lens is the capability lens. It is used to assess specific capability lines within each quadrant that pertain to that given quadrant’s perspective, rather than merely looking at the entire quadrant. Therefore, lines of development are a way of measuring altitude within a specific domain that falls within a quadrant. Using this lens helps to understand which new capabilities are needed to enable the desired result. Because your organization is likely more evolved in one domain than in another, by assessing each line, you become able to focus development in the relevant areas needed for the change to be successful.
