While consisting of only 12 percent of the Associate Professional in Human Resources (aPHR) exam, the Human Resource Development and Retention functional area has an important bottom-line impact on any employer organization. Keeping employees’ skills and knowledge current is necessary for the effectiveness of the organization, yet retaining productive and key employees is vital to an organization’s health.
