I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Introduction
The 2013 ASTD Competency Study is a rigorous evaluation of the 2004 Competency Study research, with a particular focus on the Areas of Expertise (AOEs). Several sources of data were used to inform decisions about how to revise the 2004 Model, including:
- existing data from ASTD, such as Certified Performance and Learning Professional (CPLP) exam item statistics, CPLP exam feedback, perspectives of key stakeholders, and ASTD research reports
- interviews and focus groups with a cross section of subject matter experts (SMEs)
- surveys of the profession (both targeted and large-scale surveys of training and development professionals who are ASTD members or are otherwise associated with ASTD). ...
