It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Generating a channel configuration transaction
configtxgen writes a channel creation transaction to channel.tx by executing a channel configuration transaction, as follows:
configtxgen -profile ICOrgsChannel -outputCreateChannelTx ./channel-artifacts/channel.tx -channelID icchannel
An output similar to the following will be displayed on the console:
