Aliases are often used to give an alternative number to a subscriber to dial. Let's suppose that I'm using a hard phone and the SIP address for Bogdan is bogdan@opensips.org. It won't be possible or practical to dial alphanumeric addresses from IP phones. The solution is to add an alias such as 9000@opensips.org. Another frequent case for aliases is Direct Inward Dialing (DID). You can assign as many numbers as you want to a subscriber using aliases. To add an alias, use the Alias Management submenu under the Users menu:
