So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Summary
In this chapter, you learned how to implement SIP services in order to implement telephony features found in legacy PBXs. You learned that RFC 5359 is our guide when implementing such services. Then, we explained how to implement simple services such as announcements, call forward, integration with voicemail, and call transfer. New services are being created every year; these services are usually proposed in drafts. A few good examples are RFC 6910 describing Call Completion Services and RFC 6341 for SIP-based Media Recording. After implementing all these features, we now have to understand how to troubleshoot them.
In the next chapter, we will cover troubleshooting tools.
