It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Accounting using RADIUS
Remote Authentication Dial-in User Service (RADIUS) is a kind of an AAA service. Providers often use it for AAA. You can implement a RADIUS server using the open source package called FreeRADIUS. There are other RADIUS packages licensed open-source and commercial.
RADIUS was defined primarily in two RFCs:
- RFC 2865: Authentication
- RFC 2866: Accounting
In this chapter, we will use RADIUS only for the accounting. MySQL will be used for authentication.
