OpenSIPS has evolved a lot since the first version. The OpenSIPS 2.1 is a major upgrade and has some very important new features. The major breakthroughs of this version are the asynchronous operations. Many features were also included that target better clustering, such as binary replication for registrations and NoSQL replication for dialogs and profiles.
