Installation command

With all of that finished, we can install our service.

If you choose to extend this project so that it needs distributing, then this method of deployment would be insufficient. There are a number of options for installation and, I imagine, a number more by the time this book is released. However, creating a simple console application that runs the command in this section might be the easiest and quickest option.

In order to install our service, we're going to use a tool called Service Control: it's part of the Windows SDK. Launch a Command Prompt with elevated privileges. You'll need to use the following command:

c:\windows\system32\sc.exe create PhotoService binpath= [Full Path and Filename for PhotoStorage.WindowsService.exe] ...
