Aftercare engineer
The aftercare engineer provides a support service to the client/user during the initial 6–12 months of occupancy and is, therefore, most likely a member of the commissioning team.
BIM
BIM (Building Information Modelling) enables the sharing of information and data between all stakeholders and participants around the whole asset lifecycle. It provides a platform for consistent, structured, perfect data, to enable informed smart decision making at all stages of the project process.
Budget
Quantification of resources needed to achieve a task by a set time, within which the task owners are required to work. Note: a budget consists of a financial and/or quantitative statement, prepared and approved prior to a defined period, for the purpose of attaining a given objective for that period.
Business case
Information necessary to enable approval, authorisation and policy-making bodies to assess a project proposal and reach a reasoned decision.
CDM Coordinator
A CDM Coordinator is a role required under the CDM 2007 Regulations for projects which are notifyable – the main duties of this role have been defied in the CDM 2007 Regulations.
