This chapter covers the following A+ 220-1101 exam objective:
2.7 – Compare and contrast Internet connection types, network types, and their features.
In this chapter, we discuss the types of Internet connections available to the typical small office/home office (SOHO) user, as well as the basics of enterprise Internet connectivity. But first we’ll cover computer network types—such as local area networks and wide area networks. Be prepared; there are a lot of acronyms when it comes to network types. Be ready to take notes and write down each acronym and what it stands for as we progress through the chapter.
