6 AIR-CYL: An Air Cylinder
Design System
AIR-CYL is a routine design system implemented using DSPL. The
implementation of DSPL
16
for AIR-CYL was done on a DECsystem-20, written in Elisp
(a version of Lisp from Rutgers University). An OSU version of FRL [Roberts 77] was
used for the design data-base. The AIR-CYL system takes between 1 and 5 minutes
to do a complete design with no redesign, depending on the load on the system.
We will present some comments about the Air-Cylinder domain, the AIR-CYL
system itself, the major features of the DSPL system as it has been implemented, and
a description of the Design Data-Base.
