Drill Out: Drilling through the cement after a primary cement job as the
hole is deepened.
Drill Pipe: (1) A heavy, thick-walled steel pipe used in rotary drilling to turn
the drill bit and to provide a conduit for the drilling mud. Joints of drill pipe
are about 30 ft long. (2) Heavy, thick-walled, hollow steel pipe used in rotary
drilling to turn the drill bit and to provide a conduit for the drilling mud. (3)

Drill Pipe Safety Valve: A full opening valve with threads that match the
drill pipe that can be quickly screwed onto the pipe to help control uid ow
