The difference in these systems lies in the functionality of the secondary

containment, when the primary containment is breached. For single contain-

ment, neither liquid nor vapor will be held by the secondary containment;

for double containment, liquid will be contained, and for full containment,

liquid and vapor will be contained.

LNG Tankers: Double-hulled ships specically designed to handle the low

temperature of LNG, insulated to limit the amount of LNG that boils off.

LNG carriers are up to 1000 ft long and require a minimum water depth of

40 ft when fully loaded.
