He wanted to stay. The phone call made it nearly impossible to do so.
The coaching conversation was enjoyable. Insightful. He felt a sense of purpose, somehow, in between the patio and the stream and the books and the cards and the Coach. There was an understanding of the way thought works, and the spiritual nature of life, which expanded his own resourcefulness in powerful new ways.
He was glad he stayed. Glad he found some headspace to just … listen. It wasn't a lazy Sunday afternoon, but for a Thursday it was pretty good. His first day with the Coach was coming to a close.
A new possibility was taking shape, and it was easy to commit to – effortless, in fact. He was tapping into an identity that wasn't manufactured or constructed as much as it was realized.
There was a generosity in the Coach's words. No sales, no motivation, no nonsense. The Client experienced something that didn't exist inside his office environment: namely, encouragement.
The Coach wasn't paying him compliments or blowing smoke. The Coach was telling him who he was. Telling him what he was capable of. Their conversation wasn't based on some specious and hopeful viewpoint. It was based on science. Experience. Nature. And wisdom.
