Abstract
In modern defense operations, the growing reliance on advanced technologies requires agile and secure software development processes. Traditional methods, like the waterfall model fall short leading to prolonged cycles and increased security risks in mission-critical environments. This paper introduces the Hybrid Infrastructure Convergence of Kubernetes and Istio (HYINKUBIS) architecture to address these challenges by enhancing performance, scalability, and security. The proposed HYINKUBIS architecture integrates Kubernetes for container orchestration, Istio for service mesh management, and 5G/6G technologies for highspeed, low-latency communication, achieving a reduction in system latency and an improvement in data throughput. This hybrid architecture combines RealTime Operating Systems (RTOS) for managing critical tasks with Kubernetes and Istio for non-critical tasks, ensuring optimal functionality in both connected and disconnected environments. The system shows an increase in uptime and a boost in scalability. Key metrics, such as Service Interface Data Cohesion (SIDC), Service ...
