Abstract
We are currently in Industry 4.0 which includes Artificial Intelligence, Machine learning, CPS (Cyber Physical Systems) etc. and entering now in the fifth industrial revolution-Industry 5.0. With the rapid development of ICT, Industry 4.0 has upturned the conventional industrial development model. IIoT i.e., Industrial Internet of Things, the domain where enormous amounts of data are generated by the associated industrial devices on a daily basis. In recent years, IIoT has emerged as a decisive force in transforming the manufacturing sector, offering a multitude of tangible benefits, most notably a weighty improvement in efficiency and productivity, but also in the safety and security of factories. This chapter on AI based edge computing talks about the necessity and application for edge computing in an industrial internet of things environment. Working with artificial intelligence does not just reproduce human-led actions, but also holds the capacity to expand them. AI can transform every business and the way we perform almost every task. We know that IIoT can be integrated with Edge AI which creates huge potential for smarter, more competent and unconventionally optimized industrial ecosystems. In this chapter, we have also discussed some representative use-cases ...
