18.3 | The Design Process

Once the speciﬁ cations are clear, the design process can be started. As shown in

Figure 18.5, the technical speciﬁ cation is split into three parallel paths—hardware

speciﬁ cation, software speciﬁ cation and mechanical speciﬁ cation. So without further

clariﬁ cation, it is can be understood that the design process also proceeds through three

diﬀ erent paths. But, are they three independent paths as shown in the ﬁ gure? Can we
