Saving a Library As a Template
As with lists and sites, you can save customized libraries as templates and then reuse them to create similar libraries elsewhere. When you save a library as a template, the columns, views, and document template are included, but settings such as versioning and document approval are not. You'll need to reestablish those settings for each new library you create.
To save a library as a template:
On the library toolbar, click Settings → Document Library Settings, and then click "Save document library as template" under the Permissions and Management heading. SharePoint displays the Save as Template page.
Complete the page and choose OK. SharePoint saves the library as a template and adds it to the site collection's List Template Gallery.
Library templates are saved at site collection level. To deploy the template to another site collection:
Navigate to the top-level site.
Click Site Actions → Site Settings, and click "List templates" under the Galleries heading. SharePoint displays the List Template Gallery. (In MOSS, click Site Actions → Site Settings → Modify All Site Settings.)
Click on the library to move. SharePoint asks if you want to save the file.
Click Save to download the template. Be sure to store it in your Templates folder on your computer to stay organized.
Navigate to the site collection where you want to install the template and repeat step 1 to display the List Template Gallery for that site collection.
Click Upload on the gallery toolbar and upload ...
