
DRAFT
A draft is a slope incorporated into a casting piece — a mold into which
molten metal is poured. A draft angle helps remove the finished part from
the mold or, in the case of sand casting, helps remove the model part before
casting without destroying the sand mold. Silicone mold-makers work drafts
into designs that will be 3D-printed. The Draft tool applies a draft angle to
planar faces.
Select the neutral plane and then select the face to draft. Then drag the
handle to create the slope or type a number (Figure
Oo
).
