
Note the stepover fields. This is overlap when cutting. Think of mowing
a lawn. You re-mow a strip that you’ve already mown to maintain a clean
line. If you miss space between mowing lines, the grass is longer in those
spaces. So, you overlap, or step over a bit of what you’ve already cut to get a
clean line. The more stepover you specify, the more you’ll re-cut already cut
surfaces, but the resulting finished surface will be smoother.
