Monsoon
The Indian Monsoon
The Arabic term for a season, “mawsim,” is thought to be the source of the word “monsoon.” In essence, monsoons are seasonal winds that change direction as the seasons change. Thus, they are cyclical winds. The monsoons are a two-fold system of seasonal winds because they move from the sea to the land in the summer and from the land to the sea in the winter. Some academics often treat the monsoon winds on a wide scale as both land and sea breeze. The monsoons have always played a significant role because traders and mariners have relied on them to go.
