Forests in India*
Vegetation includes forests as a vital component. India is one of the 10 nations with the most forests in the world. Approximately 67% of the world’s total forest acreage is shared between India and 9 other nations. It refers to a village fence or boundary and encompasses all uncultivated and unoccupied area. In India, after agriculture, forests occupy the second-largest amount of area. The estimated size of India’s woods, which range from Dry Zone forests to Himalayan Temperate forests, is 80.9 million hectares, or 24.62 percent of the nation’s total land area.
