Google Cloudには、ブラウザだけで使えるマネージドな開発環境が複数用意されています。サーバー構築を行わずにノートブックやIDEを起動できるため、分析やモデル開発の開始までの時間を短縮できます。
一方で、ローカルPCでコードを書き、必要なときだけGoogle Cloudの計算リソースやデータ基盤を利用する構成も有効です。本章では、クラウド環境とローカル環境を対立するものとしてではなく、作業内容に応じて使い分ける選択肢として扱います。
