18.1 はじめに
本章の内容を学習することで、Dataformを用いたSQLベースのパイプライン管理手法を習得できます。これにより、テーブル間の複雑な依存関係を視覚的に把握しつつ、データの前処理から機械学習モデルの学習と評価、定期実行までのワークフローを効率的に自動化し、運用することが可能になります。

本章の目的は、データパイプライン管理ツールであるDataformを用いて、機械学習のワークフローを構築、運用する一連の流れを習得することです。そのために、まずはパイプライン開発の土台となるリポジトリや開発ワークスペースの作成、および実行に必要なサービスアカウントの権限を設定します。環境が整った後は、実際のオープンデータを用いて、データの宣言、前処理からロジスティック回帰モデルの学習、評価を行うパイプラインを実装します。最後に、構築したワークフローのオンデマンド実行手順と、実運用を見据えた定期的なスケジュール実行の設定方法について解説します。
