It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Associative containers
Associative containers are containers that implement associative arrays. These arrays are ordered and differ only in the constraints placed by the algorithm on each of their elements. The STL references associative containers—namely set, map, multiset, and multimap. We will explore these in the following sections.
