Scaling

Scaling is the process of adding more resources or taking resources away from a service. Once monitoring is in place, we know what action needs to happen. But what does scaling look like?

If we talk about scaling outside of Docker, it almost always means we need to physically or virtually add servers to our service for us to have more resources available. Those servers need to be included in the load balancer's setup, as seen in the previous chapter, Chapter 15, Deploying Microservices in the Cloud, and they need to be correctly configured.
