It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

The first time Wendy suggested that I check out a local church after we moved to Louisville, Kentucky, I said, “Not interested.” It wasn’t that I didn’t hold any religious beliefs; I just didn’t see what attending services had to offer. I had some strong, preconceived notions about the experience and didn’t want to spend my Sunday mornings getting a lecture.
