I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Chapter 65. Why Predict?
If you could have any superpower, what would it be? Super speed? Super strength? X-ray vision? Invisibility? How about the ability to predict the future? Imagine knowing tomorrow’s stock prices, who’s going to win the next baseball game, what your opponent’s next move is going to be. That might be fun.
Whereas most of the superpowers that I’ve listed here exist only in fantasy, the ability to predict is an actual skill that you can cultivate and improve with practice.
Predicting keeps you from wasting time and money on bad ideas.
People who are good predictors can fulfill bolder promises with less risk. They bring a huge competitive edge to the table.
