를 처리할 수 있어야 한다.
웹사이트에 있는 개인의 프로필이나 개인이 작성한 문서는 해당 소유자의 동의
없이는 권한이 없는 사용자가 볼 수 없어야 한다. 또한 기업에 있는 민감한 전략 문
서는 조직 내에서 권한이 없는 임직원이 볼 수 없게 해야 한다. 그리고 웹은 우리의
아이나 배우자나 연인과의 개인적인 대화를 마음 편히 나눌 수 있는 공간이어야
한다.
그러기 위해서는 서버가 사용자가 누구인지 식별할 수 있어야 한다. 서버가 사용
자가 누구인지 알면, 그 사용자가 어떤 작업이나 리소스에 접근할 수 있는지 결정
할 수 있다. 인증은 당신이 누구인지 증명하는 것이다. 보통 사용자 이름과 비밀번
호를 입력해서 인증한다. HTTP는 자체적인 인증 관련 기능을 제공한다.
