It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

2.1 ESS concepts
The following describes some of the basic concepts and components of an ESS. Keep in
mind that some of the terms may conflict with similar concepts within operating system or
software layers. Even though we’ll clarify things here, you’ll find that some of the literature,
especially earlier documents, will blur these definitions. Figure 2-1 shows some of the major
components of an enterprise storage system.
