6.1 ESS performance and diagnostic tools
There are two main tools that are used to track performance for the ESS: IBM TotalStorage
ESS Specialist and IBM Total Storage ESS Expert.
6.1.1 IBM TotalStorage ESS Specialist
The ESS Specialist Web-based tool comes with every ESS, and is used to configure storage
allocation and monitor and report ESS status. Because it is a Web-based tool, the graphical
interface of Specialist provides several helpful views of ESS status and configuration.
Navigation is generally intuitive, but you should read and understand the instructions before
using the buttons.
