2.1 Introduction

An increase in the pressure inside the eye causes blockage of the aqueous humor ow and

damage to the optic nerve, which carries information to the brain. This results in glau-

coma, which, in many cases, can occur without any symptoms [1].

Glaucoma causes irreversible damage to the eye. Hence, its early diagnosis may prevent

permanent damage to the vision. In Figure 2.1, the optic nerve head (ONH) clea
